"A Talent for Murder" (Cannon Beach)
Showing between July 21 and October 16.

A Talent for Murder is a suspenseful drama about an internationally famous mystery novelist whose relatives would consider doing anything to get their hands on her money. Her money is in the form of an invaluable art collection, which, to the horror of her heirs, the novelist has considered donating to the Museum of Modern Art. To a quartet of greedy family members, add an elderly live-in doctor and former lover, as well as a somewhat mysterious but savvy butler, and you have the makings of a complex whodunit. This comic thriller was produced by the BBC with Angela Lansbury, of which critics wrote, “Fans of Murder She Wrote will love this play”. This Edgar Award winner is stylishly entertaining fun that keeps you guessing up to the final moments.

"Clue the Musical" (Cannon Beach)
Showing between July 2 and September 18.

Who doesn’t remember the board game Clue, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Colonel Mustard and the rest of the crowd? Was it the lead pipe, or the revolver? Did it happen in the kitchen or in the billiard room? Not often does a board game come to life on the stage where all of the characters sing and dance as well! The audience assists in drawing the cards that start the game, and they play along throughout the evening, helping to solve the crime. Critics called it, “A show for the whole family...effervescent fun.” AND there are so many possible endings that no two performances are the same, so you can see this one more than once!

Acoustic Folk Music Series: Cardboard Songsters (Cannon Beach)
The Cardboard Songsters are a duo-offshoot of the band "The Kitchen Syncopators," which was born in 1998 out of love for old southern music. The group has evolved its own sound with a blend of rural and urban oldtime stringband, blues, ragtime, jazz, and jug band music and have built quite a name and following for a few hobo's. The Cardboard Songsters have a syncopator-esque sound and play old ragged time, country blues, mountain ballads and comic songs, involving guitar/harmonica and washboard/kazoo. Inspired by the scratchy sounds of 78's, they were definitely born in the wrong century! The duo frequents farmers markets in Portland and were a huge hit when they played the Cannon Beach History Center and Museum in Fall 2008. Admission is $7 for adults and $2 for kids at the door.
